Enrolment in a graduate-level course is required. Students who have completed MBS513/MBS5132/MBS5392 Accounting for Managers may not enrol in MBS539 Accounting for Managers for credit.

  1. Demonstrate basic understanding of the accounting environment, ethics, and the role of professional skill.
  2. Explain the role of accounting information in the management planning and decision-making.
  3. Understand basic accounting concepts and apply them to analyse and record business transactions.
  4. Understand the principles of managing and reporting working capital.
  5. Prepare basic financial statements and understand the relationship of the main financial statements.
  6. Apply tools to analyse and interpret financial statements as well as understanding some of the issues facing the readers of financial statements.
  7. Understand the role of accounting in sustainable business.
  8. Understand the types of costs and revenues relevant to business decision-making.
