Introduction to MAPTS
The Mining and Petroleum Training Service (MAPTS) was established in 1979 to deliver training, development, and consulting services to the resource industries of Alaska. Over time, MAPTS has broadened its offerings to include employer-driven soft-skills and hands-on hard-skills industrial training.
Program Details
MAPTS provides health, safety, and environmental training for industry in Alaska. The program includes:
- Customized industry camps
- Underground and surface mining training at industry camps
- Training in IADC well control
- MSHA compliance training
- Other topics related to the resource industries
