Students can work on professional film sets, star in main-stage productions, and collaborate with experienced professors and community theatre members.

Film and performing arts is the study of the history, theory, and technologies of cinema, new media, and theatre. This program is ideal for individuals with a passion for performing or creating, as it provides a comprehensive education in the field.

The Film and Performing Arts program helps develop students' original, creative, and critical thinking to master technical or dramatic skills, with a particular emphasis on the cultures, lifestyles, and environments of Alaska and the North. Students take a shared group of classes in performance, production design, and filmmaking, and then choose either a film or theatre concentration.
