University Programs

The College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS) offers several graduate programs, including two non-thesis professional master's degrees:

• Master of Marine Studies (M.M.S.)
• Master of Marine Policy (M.M.P.)

Program Details

These programs provide interdisciplinary training for careers in marine sciences, policy, and business.

• The Master of Marine Studies (M.M.S.) and Master of Marine Policy (M.M.P.) degrees are designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of marine sciences and policy.
• The Blue MBA concentration, which is offered by the UAF College of Business and Security Management, combines a Master of Business Administration degree with CFOS courses in fisheries science, marine biology, and oceanography.

Program Objectives

The primary objective of these programs is to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue careers in marine sciences, policy, and business.

• The programs aim to equip students with a deep understanding of the complex relationships between marine ecosystems, human activities, and policy decisions.
• By combining coursework in fisheries science, marine biology, oceanography, and business administration, students gain a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing the marine industry.
