University Program: Social Work
The Social Work program is offered by the College of Liberal Arts, Department of Social Work, and is available at the Chukchi Campus, Kuskokwim Campus, and Northwest Campus.
Program Overview
The program leads to a B.A. degree and minor in Social Work, with a minimum requirement of 123 credits. Graduates qualify for beginning practice positions in various fields, including child welfare, mental health, and services for the aged. The curriculum includes a liberal arts base, foundation requirements in the behavioral sciences, and sequences in social policy and services, practice methods, and field instruction.
Program Requirements
To complete the B.A. degree, students must:

The UAF baccalaureate social work program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. This degree program is delivered collaboratively within the UA system.
