Program Overview

Introduction to the German-Turkish Masters Program in Social Sciences

The German-Turkish Masters Program in Social Sciences (GETMA) is a unique, interdisciplinary, integrated Masters Program at the Humboldt-Universit‰t zu Berlin and METU.

Program Structure

All students attend their first year of studies in Ankara and their second year in Berlin.

Program Focus

GETMA students can enlarge their knowledge on political processes in both countries and regions of Europe as well as cultivate the analytical and methodological tools used in comparative government, integration theories, and social change. The Program has a special focus on democratization and modernization, migration and Europeanization.

Funding Opportunities

For the non-German students of the new GeT MA cohort, a total of nine DAAD scholarships are available for the first part of the programme in Ankara (ten months). Seven scholarships for the second part of the programme in Berlin are also available.

Academic Calendar

It is important to check METU Academic Calendar and courses offered for the Spring Semester. The add-drop period allows students to change their courses, and it is necessary to take approval from the information system during this time.
