PhD Qualifying Exam in Financial Mathematics
The PhD Qualifying Exam in Financial Mathematics is a comprehensive assessment of a student's competence in the related fields and their disposition towards research.
Exam Composition
The exam is conducted by an examination jury comprising five members, with at least two members from outside the University and one member being the student's thesis supervisor.
Exam Format
The exam consists of written and oral examinations, which are conducted entirely in English. The exam is administered twice a year, in May and November.
Eligibility and Timing
Students enrolled in a PhD programme are required to take the qualification exam by the end of their 5th semester. However, students enrolled in a PhD Integrated program must take the exam by the end of their 7th semester.
Regulations
The exam is governed by the Middle East Technical University Rules and Regulations Governing Graduate Studies.
