Overview
The Group Counseling Program is a psychological counseling process designed for students. The program consists of two types of groups: Encounter Groups and Psycho-Education Groups.
Encounter Groups
What is it?
The Encounter Groups are a psychological counseling process with groups of 10-12 people coming together once a week for 90 minutes. The process lasts 6-8 weeks and is guided by a professional leader (one or two specialists in the field). The aim is to improve interpersonal communication and interaction. Students are given participation certificates.
Who can apply?
- All METU students
When to apply?
Students can participate in the announced group by following group counseling announcements.
Psycho-Education Groups
What is it?
The Psycho-Education Groups are a psychological counseling process with groups of 10-12 people coming together once a week for 90 minutes. The process lasts 6-8 weeks and is guided by a professional leader (one or two specialists in the field). There is a pre-defined problem area (such as overcoming procrastination, effective studying, time management, etc.) in this type of group counseling. It is a professional process that includes intensive information exchange and active participation of students. Students are given participation certificates.
