Russian Language for English-Speaking Students

The program is designed for English-speaking students whose level of English language proficiency is not lower than B2. Training takes the form of intensive practical classes aimed at the formation of skills to use the acquired knowledge in any sphere of their life.

Program Details

• Classes are conducted with the use of the English language or in English (terminology, explanation of phonetic and grammar material, as well as some lexical units), which gives intensification to the learning process.
• The program is available for organized groups of 10 students or more.

The developer and academic supervisor of the program is Tatiana Vitalyevna Lypkan, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language and Its Teaching Methods of SPbU.

• Formation and development of aspect speech skills as part of this program
• Development of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills based on the studied language material

Learning Outcome

The program allows foreign trainees to improve their Russian language skills and develop proficiency in speaking. As a result, trainees will be able to:

• In speaking: start and maintain a dialogue; formulate and ask a question; make up a monologic utterance within the themes provided by the educational program
• In writing: make up an elementary written monologic utterance within the themes provided by the educational program
• In reading: be able to read and understand the texts based on the learned material, within the themes provided by the educational program
• In listening: listen and understand the main content of an audio-text within the themes provided by the educational program

Program Structure

• Trainees of the Program: Foreigners whose level of English is not lower than B2
• Duration of Training: 2 training weeks
• Volume of Training: 60 hours, including 40 hours of contact training and 20 hours of individual work
• Training Period: As groups are formed
• Form of Training: Full-time, in classrooms or online using ICT
• Document Issued: A standard certificate of SPbU

Tuition Fee

The tuition fee for the program is 21,000 .
