Introduction to the Preparatory Course

The Preparatory Course at St. Petersburg University is designed for international applicants who are interested in further studying in Russian. This program aims to prepare students for higher education institutions in various fields of study.

Program Description

The Preparatory Course is a program designed to prepare international students for further studying in certain educational fields in the Russian language. At the end of the course, students take a final exam in Russian, tests in core subjects, and have the opportunity to take a free test of Russian as a foreign language (TORFL-1 level or TORFL-2 upon request). Students who successfully complete the preparatory course receive a certificate of course completion from St. Petersburg University.

Admission Requirements

To submit documents for admission, applicants are required to:

• Make a personal account and fill in a questionnaire and application form
• Print and sign the application for admission
• Attach the following documents to their personal account:
  • Application for admission
  • Copy of identity document
  • Educational credential (final diploma) and supplements thereto (transcript of records)
  • Document issued by a medical institution confirming the absence of medical contraindications for studying, including confirmations from a psychiatrist and narcologist

Tuition Fee

The 2025/26 tuition fee is expected to be 302,000 Rubles, with the final cost to be announced later. The tuition fee can only be paid in full, and installment is not provided. The tuition fee should be paid within 10 days after signing the contract.

Admission Period

The 2025/26 admission for the offline and online Preparatory Course will be held from February 3, 2025, to August 25, 2025.
