Overview
The program focuses on the traditional folk music of Karelia, including its history, cultural significance, and performance practices.
Objectives
Upon completing the program, students will:
- Understand the traditions of Karelian folk singing and the use of folk instruments in Karelia
- Be able to place their knowledge within various societal frameworks
- Recognize the connection between folk music and changes in tradition over different historical periods
- Comprehend the cultural area of Karelia as an intercultural phenomenon and gain skills to work in a multicultural cultural sector
- Apply their knowledge in various information gathering and interaction situations in the workplace

Assessment Criteria
Knowledge of the central content of the literature or attendance at lectures and course-specific performances within the agreed timeframe. The course is graded on a scale of 0-5.
Price Information
The price for a single course is 20 per credit, and for course entities, it is 15 per credit. These prices are valid for the academic year 2025-2026.
