Program Overview


Emergency Medical Services - Associate of Applied Science

The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program at Dońa Ana Community College offers an Associate of Applied Science degree. This program requires a minimum of 69-70 credits, which is an additional 16-17 credits above those required for the Paramedic Certificate.


Requirements

To graduate with an Associate Degree of Applied Science in Emergency Medical Services, students must complete the following requirements:

General Education Requirements

Students must select one course from four of the following six content areas for a total of 12-14 credits:


  • Area I: Communications

  • Area II: Mathematics - Any approved NM General Education Area II Course listed in the current DACC/NMSU catalog

Graduation Requirements

To graduate with a certificate or an associate degree, students must earn a C or better in all OEEM courses, and achieve a cumulative grade-point average of at least 2.0. A grade of C- or better is required in ENGL 1110G Composition I and designated Mathematics courses.
