Bachelor of Arts in Dance

The Bachelor of Arts in Dance offers a broad technical, artistic, and academic curriculum designed to provide a well-rounded and comprehensive experience in technique, composition, pedagogy, performance, and interdisciplinary study.

Requirements

Students must complete all University degree requirements, including General Education and Viewing the Wider World coursework and Dance Technique, Dance Technique Electives, Dance Major Core Requirements, and Interdisciplinary Electives.

• Grades of C- or better are required in Area 1: ENGL 1110G Composition I and Area II: Mathematics, as well as Dance Major Core Courses.
• The College of Health, Education and Social Transformation requires a minimum GPA of 2.5 for graduation.
• Developmental coursework will not count towards the degree requirements and/or elective credits but may be needed to take the necessary English and Mathematics coursework.
• Students must complete a minimum of 120 credits with 48 credits in courses numbered 3000 (300) or above.

• Ballet Technique: Four semesters of Ballet Technique from (7-8 credits)

• Modern Dance Technique: Four semesters of Modern Dance Technique from (7-8 credits)

Dance Technique Electives
