Program Overview
New Mexico State University Department of Music
The Department of Music at New Mexico State University provides students with opportunities to grow as singers and experience different types of vocal ensemble experiences. These experiences range from solos, duets, and trios to larger groups, and all vocal ensembles vary in time commitment. The department welcomes students from all majors to join, whether they are beginning singers or have a wealth of experience.
Lyric Theatre
Lyric Theatre is an ensemble course designed to provide students with opportunities to grow as performers on stage, as soloists, and as members of small or large ensembles. The course involves experiential training in singing on stage, which encompasses the skills of musical preparation, singing, acting, and stage movement. The course culminates in performances of solos, scenes, or full productions, as participation and circumstances allow.
Enrollment Requirements
Enrollment in Lyric Theatre requires an audition and is open to all NMSU students.
Department of Music Overview
