Program Overview


New Mexico State University Youth Ranch Management Camp

The New Mexico State University Youth Ranch Management Camp is a unique program designed for high school-age students to learn about the many aspects of running a ranch. The camp provides college-level instruction in managing a ranch, from financial statements and marketing strategies to producing quality beef and managing natural resources and wildlife.

Program Structure

The camp is a collaboration between Extension specialists, County Extension agents, and members of the ranching industry. Participants will receive hands-on curriculum and develop a ranch management plan for a scenario similar to the host ranch.
