Emergency Medical Technician Basic - Certificate

The Emergency Medical Technician Basic - Certificate program is designed to provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge to become certified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs).


Program Requirements

The program requires a total of 20 credits, which includes:


  • General Education and Common Core Requirements
    • ENGL 111G: Rhetoric and Composition (4 credits)
    • BOT/NURS 150: Medical Terminology (3 credits)
    • COMM 253G: Public Speaking (3 credits) or COMM 265G: Principles of Human Communication
  • Program Requirements
    • OEEM 101: CPR for the Health Care Professional (1 credit)
    • OEEM 120: Emergency Medical Technician Basic (6 credits)
    • OEEM 120 L: Emergency Medical Technician Basic Lab (2 credits)
    • OEEM 121: Emergency Medical Technician Basic Field/Clinical (1 credit)
