Program Overview

Solar Energy Technology - Certificate of Completion

The Solar Energy Technology - Certificate of Completion is a 26-credit program designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in the solar energy industry.

Program Requirements

To complete the program, students must earn a final grade of C- or better in all required TCEN courses and achieve a cumulative grade-point average of at least 2.0. A grade of C- or better is required in ENGL 1110G Composition I and designated Mathematics courses.

• Core Requirements:
  • MATH 1215: Intermediate Algebra 1 (3 credits)
  • or OETS 118: Mathematics for Technicians
  • OETS 102: Career Readiness Certification Preparation (1 credit)
  • TCEN 101: Energy for the Next Generation (3 credits)
  • Select 3 credits from the following:
    • BCIS 1110: Introduction to Information Systems 1 (3 credits)
    • OECS 105: Introduction to Information Technology (3 credits)
    • OECS 215: Spreadsheet Applications (1-3 credits)
• Related and Technical Requirements:
  • ENGL 1110G: Composition I 1 (4 credits)
  • or OETS 103: Technical Career Skills
  • BCT 101: Introduction to Construction I (2 credits)
  • BCT 102: Introduction to Construction II (2 credits)
