Program Overview


Health Information Technology - Associate of Applied Science

The Health Information Technology (HIT) program at Dońa Ana Community College is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage health information systems. This program requires the completion of 67-68 credits and includes coursework in health information technology, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and health information systems.


Program Requirements

  • Students must earn a final grade of C- or better in all required HIT and OATS courses.
  • Students must achieve a cumulative grade-point average of at least 2.0.
  • A grade of C- or better is required in ENGL 1110G Composition I and designated Mathematics courses.
  • Students must complete all University degree requirements, which include General Education requirements and elective credits to total at least 67 credits.
