Electronics and Telecommunications
Program Overview
Program Overview
The Electronics and Telecommunications program at the AGH University of Science and Technology is a two-stage study program that offers personal development and excellent preparation for professional work. The program is updated annually to include compulsory and elective subjects, allowing students to shape their career path.
Program Description
The program focuses on the development of systems and technologies that will be implemented in the next 3-5 years, requiring qualified personnel with expertise in design, implementation, and operation of complex systems. Graduates of the program will have a solid understanding of digital signal processing and analysis, programming languages (Assembler, VHDL, C, C++, Java, Python), simulation and design of analog and digital electronic systems, and system operation.
Graduate Profile
Graduates of the Electronics and Telecommunications program will be able to:
- Design and build electronic devices, including telecommunications equipment
- Use measurement tools (generators, oscilloscopes, protocol testers, spectrum analyzers, measurement cards)
- Perform computer simulations of electronic systems
- Implement algorithms, create own system software, and develop network applications for the Internet of Things
Career Opportunities
Graduates of the program are in high demand on the job market and can work in companies involved in the design, development, and implementation of telecommunications systems, IT concerns that develop future-generation mobile systems, or telecommunications operators that build and maintain fiber-optic and wireless teleinformation systems.
Specializations
The program offers two specializations:
- Embedded Systems: focuses on the design and development of specialized analog and digital integrated circuits, programmable devices, and processors.
- Networks and Services: focuses on the design and development of network systems, including routing, switching, and network services.
Graduate Employment
Graduates of the Electronics and Telecommunications program are employed by companies such as Motorola Solutions, Nokia Solutions and Networks, COMARCH, Capgemini, Ailleron, IBM, CISCO, Akamai, and Semihalf.
