Program Overview
The English Medium Instruction for Beginners program is a 20-hour workshop designed for academic teachers with limited experience in conducting classes in English or those planning to do so. The program aims to equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively teach in English.
Program Objectives
The program objectives include:
- Mastering basic academic terminology necessary for conducting classes at a university
- Gaining knowledge of grammatical structures and vocabulary to convey clear and structured messages
- Learning techniques for effective communication with students
- Practicing question-asking and formulating precise answers to students' questions
- Acquiring techniques for working with groups of varying competence levels and cultural backgrounds
- Receiving guidance on strategies for handling difficult situations, such as students' comprehension problems or lack of active participation
Program Structure
The program consists of:
- 20 hours of workshop sessions
- Simulated practice sessions and short micro-lessons conducted in English
- Minimum attendance requirement of 8 sessions
- Active participation in workshop activities
- Preparation for workshop sessions

Edition I

- Time: 12:30-14:00
Edition II
- Dates: 17.10.2025, 24.10.2025, 30.10.2025, 07.11.2025, 14.11.2025, 21.11.2025, 28.11.2025, 05.12.2025, 12.12.2025, 19.12.2025
- Time: 10:00-11:30 (except 30.10, which will be held on Thursday)
Admission Requirements
- English language proficiency at a minimum B2 level
- Limited number of places available
- Certificate of completion upon fulfilling the program requirements
Target Audience
The program is designed for individuals employed at AGH in a teaching or research-teaching role. Participation in the program is contingent upon acceptance of the rules and regulations governing the development of teaching competencies.
Program Organization
The program is organized as part of the "Inicjatywa Doskonaoci Uczelnia Badawcza" (IDUB) project. The program is conducted in a stationary format at the Studium Jzyk¾w Obcych, building C-7.
