Program Overview

The postgraduate studies in Occupational Safety and Health are designed for graduates of all fields, types, and levels, who wish to acquire or expand their knowledge in the field of occupational safety and health. The program is addressed to both individuals working in the occupational safety and health service and those outside the industry who want to gain a new professional specialty.

Program Structure

The studies last two semesters and include 220 hours of didactic classes, implemented in the form of lectures, exercises, and seminars. The program allows for the acquisition of 45 ECTS points. The first semester is devoted to a comprehensive discussion of occupational safety and health issues. The second semester covers the detailed problems of hazards and preventive measures in the workplace.

Teaching Staff

Classes at the university are conducted by renowned specialists in the field of occupational safety and health, including teachers from the AGH University of Science and Technology, employees of the State Labor Inspection, State Sanitary Inspection, Collegium Medicum UJ, State Fire Service, Mining Authority, and Central Mining Rescue Station.

Curriculum

The scope of the program includes issues from the field of labor law and protection, ergonomics in designing workplaces, hazards from the material environment, occupational accidents and diseases, methods of assessing occupational risk, systems for managing occupational safety and health, and pedagogical improvement.

Graduate Profile

Graduates of the program are prepared to work in occupational safety and health services in enterprises, companies providing services in the field of occupational safety and health, and training centers educating in this field. They can be employed in occupational safety and health services in all sectors of the economy, including production plants, education, healthcare, uniformed services, government administration, and local government.

Program Details

The program provides participants with a certificate of completion, issued by the AGH University of Science and Technology, in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Education and Science, giving them the right to perform occupations related to occupational safety and health and to hold managerial positions in occupational safety and health services.

Participants in the program undergo training confirmed by a certificate in the scope of providing first aid in life-threatening conditions and acquire competencies to conduct audits and training in the field of occupational safety and health.
