Program Overview
Introduction to the Excellence Initiative - Research University Program
The Excellence Initiative - Research University Program is designed to support long-term research stays abroad for up to three months and up to one year. The program aims to enable young researchers and doctoral students to conduct research at the highest international level.
Program Objectives
The primary objectives of the program are:
- To allow young research and teaching staff, as well as doctoral students, to go abroad for a research stay necessary to conduct scientific research at the highest world level (Action 6).
- To enable research or research and teaching staff to travel to International Research Centers, allowing them to conduct scientific research at the highest world level (Action 10).
Program Details
The program will commence on January 1, 2025, and will provide funding for long-term research stays abroad related to:
- Work on experiments carried out in International Research Centers (e.g., CERN).
- Completion of foreign internships by young employees.
Funding
The funding amount for 2025 has been increased to 1,600,000 z. The deadline for submitting applications has been extended to December 31, 2025, or until the funds are exhausted.
Application Procedure
Applications must be submitted no later than 17 working days, but no earlier than 60 days, before the planned departure date. The stay should end no later than September 30, 2026.
Evaluation Criteria
The evaluation criteria for applications include:
- The quality of the research project.
- The relevance of the research stay to the applicant's research goals.
- The applicant's academic and professional background.
