Program Overview
Introduction to the Biotechnology Program
The major aims to cultivate high-level inter-disciplinary innovators capable of international perspectives, who can take on managerial and technical roles in biotechnology-related enterprises, administrative departments, or engage in scientific research and teaching at higher education institutions and research institutions.
Program Objectives
The program objectives are to produce graduates who:
- Possess strong professional ethics, excellent expertise, and a sense of social responsibility.
- Have a foundation in biology, a comprehensive grasp of fundamental knowledge and theory in modern biotechnology and related disciplines, the ability to access and integrate scientific information, and an understanding of disciplinary advancements and trends.
- Have a global perspective and can engage in international affairs and competition.
- Can employ critical thinking and analytical abilities to address problems, utilize scientific approaches for solutions, and have practical skills for work in biotechnology and related disciplines.

Educational System
The educational system is full-time, with a duration of four years, located at the Laoshan campus of Ocean University of China. The first-class discipline is bioscience, and the degree awarded is a Bachelor of Science.
Graduates' Ability Requirements
Through their academic studies, students will achieve comprehensive development in morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor skills. Upon graduation, they will possess the following knowledge and abilities:

Tuition Fees
The tuition fees for the academic year 2023 are as follows:
- Ocean University of China: RMB 60,000/year
- University of Adelaide: $45,500/year
Study Pathways
Undergraduates can take the following study pathways:
- "4 + 0" pathway: students will study in OUC for four years and obtain the diploma of undergraduate and degree of bachelor of OUC.
- "2 + 2" pathway: students will study in OUC for two years and UoA for two years and obtain the diploma of undergraduate and degree of bachelor of OUC and the honour degree of science bachelor of UoA.
- "3 + 2" pathway: students will study in OUC for three years and UoA for two years and obtain the diploma of undergraduate of OUC and degree of master of UoA.
