Fashion Design Program
The Fashion Design Department's education, training, and R&D activities are carried out in cooperation with the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT, New York) under the New York State University (SUNY).
Program Overview
Students accepted to the department will continue their education for 5 terms in Istanbul Technical University and the last 4 academic terms in FIT at New York. They graduate with a diploma including the approval of both institutions. 30 students are accepted to this department each year, and the teaching language is English. Students who graduate from this department have work permits for one year in the United States.
Objectives of the Program
The objective of the program is to bring up designers who have the ability to create brand and fashion.
Admission Criteria
- The candidate who has scored a minimum of 150 points from TYT will have a chance to attend the General Ability Examination and Engagement.
- The prospering candidates will deserve to attend the program.
- An essay that includes a maximum of 250 words about the applicant's career plan is required.
- A portfolio that includes drawings and photographs of clothes is required.
- The assessment will be done based on creativity, design, and technical ability.
- Applications can be done in Turkish or in English, with English being preferred.
Course Plan
The Fashion Design Department has a course plan that is a double certification, associate program between ITU and SUNY Fashion Institute of Technology.
Program Details
- The program accepts students from the academic year.
- The program is totally in English.
- Students who could not get sufficient points from Language Evaluation continue to the ITU English Prep School for 1 year.
- The program will accept 30 students.
- At the end of the program, students deserve to get both schools' certifications.
- Lessons will be at ITU G³m³suyu Campus.
- Students have to present their portfolios, which is explained in details, to the pre-registration.
Tuition Fees
The fees will be paid in TL for the years at ITU and USD for the years at USA, with two installments at October and February.
