Department of Urban and Regional Planning

The Department of Urban and Regional Planning at ITU Faculty of Architecture is a leading institution in planning education and profession in Turkey. The department's vision is to create a milieu of innovative, creative, and productive education, research, and planning practice at national and international levels.


Education

The Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning program is designed to guide future planners who comprehend the life, space, and community to lead the future. The program aims to:

Program Details

  • The program has been serving since the academic year with one of the largest groups of academic staff in Turkey.
  • 30% of the classes in the curriculum have been in English since 1997 to educate Urban Planners who can pursue their profession internationally.
  • 100% English education started in the academic year.
  • The program consists of mandatory and elective courses as well as studios.
  • The total number of credits is 156 (240 ECTS).
  • The curriculum is designed to encourage participation in not only international exchange programs but also in double-major and minor programs between diverse disciplines.
