Erasmus+ Program
The Erasmus+ Program is designed to promote cooperation between higher education institutions by bringing different cultures together academically and socially. The Istanbul Technical University Erasmus Office organizes mobility with program countries (KA131) and partner countries (KA171), creating awareness and visibility for Erasmus activities.
The university has agreements with over 340 universities from 37 different countries. It is also one of the universities with the highest Erasmus budget in Turkey, with 18 years of experience. The ITU Erasmus Office has received the "Erasmus Quality Certificate" for its success in the "Student Mobility" activity.
Students and academic/administrative staff who want to participate in mobility in program countries or partner countries are provided with grant support from the European Union (EU) funds through the Turkish National Agency. Since the start of the Erasmus exchange programs, Istanbul Technical University has sent a total of 6100 students abroad and hosted approximately 3250 students from European countries on its campuses. Currently, ITU sends an average of 450 students abroad and hosts 250 students each year under the Erasmus program.
The university encourages and supports all its students and staff to receive education and conduct research at an international level.
