Program Overview


Boeing Student Scholarship Program

The Boeing-ITU Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering Department Student Scholarships aim to attract high-quality undergraduate and master students that have technical or business aptitude and who have an interest in The Boeing Company and/or Aerospace sector.


Eligibility Requirements

Applicants for Undergraduate Scholarship Program must:


  • Have a minimum 2.7 cumulative GPA on 4.0 scale,
  • Be enrolled as a full-time sophomore or junior student in Aeronautical or Astronautical Engineering Department,
  • Not receive any other scholarship and/or funding support more than 1650 TL/monthly, and
  • Be a Turkish citizen or meet the eligibility requirements to study in Turkey.

Applicants for Graduate Scholarship Program must:


  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.7/4.0 (undergraduate) and if available 3.0/4.0 (graduate),
  • Be in the first or second year of graduate studies in Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics DAP Graduate Program, or Defense Technologies Graduate Program, or be a senior student who will apply to Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics DAP Graduate Program, Defense Technologies Graduate Program in Spring education term,
  • Not receive any other scholarship and/or funding support more than 1650 TL/monthly, and
  • Be a Turkish citizen or meet the eligibility requirements to study in Turkey.

Selection Criteria

Scholarships will be awarded based on:


  • Educational and career goals,
  • Academic achievement,
  • Financial need,
  • Work experience, and
  • Special circumstances such as world-renowned talent.

Value: Benefits and Duration

The Scholarship will be granted once a year. If granted, funding begins immediately. Funding will be given in 6-12 installments. An undergraduate student who has won the scholarship in his/her sophomore year can further apply for a second time in his/her junior year. A graduate student who has won the scholarship as an undergraduate or first-year graduate student can apply for the scholarship again as a graduate student.


Application Procedure

To apply for this scholarship, please submit:


  • Maximum 2 pages of statement of purpose related to research field and your career goals as an Aeronautical, Astronautical, Electronics, Mechanical, Metalurgical and Materials Science, and Computer Science Engineer (for graduate students),
  • Maximum 2 pages of personal statement and a field of interest and your career goals as a future Aeronautical or Astronautical Engineer (for undergraduate students),
  • The names and contact information for 2 recommendations (professors and industrial references are welcome),
  • A copy of academic transcript (undergraduate, and graduate if applicable),
  • A copy of your CV,
  • Portfolio of existing work (papers, project work, awards, recognitions, and any material that will support your application and identify your unique position),
  • Statement of financial need for this grant and a statement of honor noting that you do not receive any other scholarship and/or funding more than 1650 TL/monthly (undergraduate) and 1650 TL/monthly (graduate).

Notifications of Results

A short list of candidates will be notified by email for a further interview with the selection committee. Following the interviews, the final scholarship recipients will be notified via a formal announcement through the faculty and university web site. No announcements will be made to other applicants, including the ones selected within the short list. Selected candidates will need to sign a scholarship contract with the university to obtain the grant. If the scholarship contract is not signed by the student in the notified due date, further candidates within the short list selection order will be considered for scholarship.


Additional Requirements

  • All application documents should be in English (except originally Turkish documents such as transcript or portfolio work).
  • With their CVs, applicants are required to detail their interests and indicate areas of non-academic activity that they would hope to pursue while a student.
  • In the statement of financial need, the applicants will need to provide a self-written paper that has information on their financial circumstances and sources of income that they have for funding their studies. The declaration should be signed and dated by the applicant.
  • Further additional information may be requested by the selection panel during the selection process.
  • No documents will be returned to you after the selection process.
  • A short list of candidates will be selected for interview with the selection committee.

Scholarship Details

The scholarship program will be available for 3 undergraduate and 3 graduate degree students (total of 6) annually. The students must be full-time enrolled to be eligible.
