Education and Teaching Year ITU Fashion Design International Joint Undergraduate Program Application

Program Overview

The Fashion Design Program is a joint undergraduate program between Istanbul Technical University and the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York. The program is four years long, with the first year, second semester, and third year taking place at ITU's Textile Technologies and Design Faculty in Istanbul, and the second semester of the second year and the fourth year taking place at FIT in New York.

Admission Requirements

• Pre-Registration and Talent Exam/Interview Procedures: Candidates must apply online between August 1-8, 2025. After online application, a printout must be obtained.
• Portfolio: A portfolio must be prepared according to the Moda Tasarm Portfolyo Hazrlk Prosedürü on the website and uploaded as a single PDF file during the application process. The portfolio file can be up to 50MB.
• TYT Score: The 2025 TYT score must be at least 150. For candidates with a disability, the TYT score must be at least 100.
• Talent Exam/Interview:
  • A general talent drawing exam will be held on August 11, 2025, between 10:00-12:00 at ITU Gümüsuyu Campus, Technical Drawing classes.
  • Interviews will be held between August 11, 2025 (starting at 13:30) and August 15, 2025 (until 17:30) at ITU Gümüsuyu Campus, Textile Technologies and Design Faculty Dean's Meeting Hall, face-to-face.

Program Details

• Language of Instruction: English
• English Proficiency: Students must have a sufficient level of English proficiency. They must take the TOEFL IBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or PTE (Pearson Test of English) exam and achieve a minimum score of 80 on the TOEFL IBT or 53 on the PTE. Students who do not meet this requirement will receive intensive English education at the English Preparatory School.
• Tuition Fees: The tuition fees will be announced after the decision is published in the Official Gazette.

Program Structure

Evaluation and Placement

• Placement will be based on the 2025 Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) Guide formula.
• Candidates with a special talent exam score of 65 and above will be included in the ranking.
• The list of accepted candidates will be announced on August 19, 2025, on the Student Affairs Directorate website.

Disability and Special Needs

• Candidates with disabilities must submit a "Disability Health Board Report" during the application process, talent exam, and final registration.
• The report must be from a state hospital, and a single doctor's report or a health center report is not valid.

English Language Requirement

• Students must meet the English language requirement within two years. The TOEFL IBT Special Home Edition exam is not accepted. TOEFL IBT and PTE Academic exam results must be from a state university exam center, and the results are valid for two years.
