Course Overview
The Certificate in Music and Dance is a 1-year, full-time program that covers 10 modules through lectures, seminars, workshops, and master classes. This qualification enhances performance skills and opens doors to further study. It provides training in music literacy, group playing and arrangement, song and dance, enabling students to work in various educational contexts. Dancers will experience ensemble, choreography work, and movement awareness. The program develops academic, literacy, and presentation skills, important for a wide range of careers.
What You Will Study
Students will cover 10 modules, developing skills in music and dance, with any genre welcome. The program enhances performance skills and opens doors to further study, including a pathway into certain degree programs at the Irish World Academy, University of Limerick. Criteria for progression are based on available places and relevance of performance and academic achievement on the Certificate.
Entry Requirements
- CAO points history: N/A
- Additional considerations: Auditions will take place on 11 and 12 April, 2026. An interview/audition is arranged for each applicant, which must be passed to gain entry onto the course.
- Access and Eligibility: Those applying must do so directly to the University, not through the CAO. Music and/or dance experience in at least one area is required. Successful applicants will have successfully conducted an interview, audition, and a written assignment.
