Year 1
Autumn Semester
- Advanced Cell Biology (BY6011) discusses and interprets the structural and functional characteristics of eukaryotic cells.
- Biopharmaceuticals: From Concept to Product (BY6001) describes the pathway taken from the identification of a drug target to a potential new therapy.
- Advanced Biophysical Characterisation Techniques (BY6032) develops a fundamental understanding of how modern biochemical and biophysical characterization techniques work.
- Predictive Biomolecular Modelling Tools (PH6021) introduces the computational physics, chemistry, and biology underpinning the latest breakthroughs in disease treatment and regenerative medicine.
- Analytical Techniques in Biosciences (BY6031) equips students with advanced laboratory skills.
Spring Semester
- Cancer and Precision Medicine (BY6004) enables students to understand the key concepts and ideas underpinning Precision medicine in oncology.
- Neurological and Inflammatory Diseases (BY6014) identifies the fundamental principles underpinning translational research and therapeutic approaches for neurological and inflammatory diseases.
- Nutraceuticals and Disease (BY6002) provides an in-depth understanding of the aetiology for the need for nutraceuticals.
- Advanced Analytical Techniques in Biosciences (BY6032) fosters critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and precision in experimental work.
- Regulatory Affairs in Biopharma (CH6012) introduces the fundamentals of regulatory affairs and covers international regulatory requirements.
Summer Semester
- Project (BY6005) develops independent academic research and critical thinking, lab skills, data analysis, academic writing, literature review, and self-expression in a technical domain.
Entry Requirements
- Applicants should hold a bachelor's degree (NFQ Level 8) with at least a second-class honour, grade 2 (2:2) in a relevant or appropriate subject.
- Other Entry Considerations: We encourage you to apply even if you don't meet the standard entry requirements, as long as you can show that you have the knowledge, skills, and experience needed for the programme.
- International students: For details on country-specific qualifications, visit postgraduate entry requirements for international students.
