Brief Description

Perioperative nursing involves providing personalised person-centred care to patients within the highly technical perioperative setting. This 12-week, Level 9 micro-credential is for registered nurses working in a perioperative theatre environment who want to enhance their expertise.

During this module, you will:

  • Learn the principles of delivering safe, personalised care throughout the patient's perioperative journey
  • Understand your role in anaesthetics, recovery, pain management and collaborative care
  • Explore how to apply recommended practices, policies and guidelines in theatre settings

  • This micro-credential will be delivered in a blended format over 12 weeks.
  • You will be assessed using continuous assessment, including e-learning activities, presentations and written assignments.

Entry Requirements

To help you to be successful on this course:

  • You must be a registered nurse on the current register of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
  • You must be working in a perioperative setting to undertake this module.
