Brief Description
Caring for older people is becoming more complex as populations age and care settings evolve. This 12-week, Level 9 micro-credential is designed for registered nurses who want to deepen their understanding of gerontological nursing and deliver more responsive, person-centred care.

During this module, you will:
- Explain the main theories of ageing and how they relate to gerontological nursing care
- Examine nursing models and apply them to real gerontological nursing care situations
- Discuss the application of concepts of re-enablement and rehabilitation within gerontological nursing
- Use assessment tools to support a person-centred, biopsychosocial approach to care
- Develop knowledge and skills to provide evidence-based holistic person-centred care across the health/ill health continuum
- Use evidence-based knowledge and skills to challenge ageism in gerontological care provision
