Program Content

During this module, students will:

• Develop clinical skills to assess and respond to common mental health difficulties using structured psychosocial approaches
• Learn how to apply frameworks such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), family interventions, and motivational strategies in practice
• Strengthen ability to reflect critically, solve problems, and adapt care in complex clinical and social situations
• Build confidence to deliver collaborative, recovery-focused support in mental health settings

Delivery and Assessment

• The micro-credential will be delivered in a blended format over 12 weeks.
• Assessment will be based on a written case study assignment, accounting for 100% of the final grade.

Entry Requirements

• Applicants must be registered nurses on the current register of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
