The Foundation Studies program is designed for First Year Liberal Arts (BA) students, aiming to equip them with essential skills for academic success and future careers.

Skills for Study and Work

The program includes two core modules: Skills for Study and Work 1 (FN4771) and Skills for Study and Work 2 (FN4772).

• Academic Writing: This course explores academic writing at the university level, focusing on writing style, essay structure, and referencing sources through a task-based approach.
• Information Technology: Introduction to computing on the College network, including the use of the Windows environment, word-processing, and spreadsheet skills.

Research Skills

The program also covers research skills, including:

• Introduction to Research: This course examines both quantitative and qualitative research, teaching students to critically evaluate research by analyzing research design, data analysis, and drawing conclusions from research.
