The University of Limerick offers a Freshman Programme designed to provide students with an inspiring, confidence-boosting, and life-changing experience. This programme is ideal for students looking to spend their freshman year in Ireland, with the opportunity to choose modules from across all faculties to fulfill major, minor, and/or general education requirements.

• A dedicated Freshman Programme Manager is available to support students throughout their stay.
• An extensive choice of modules is offered, allowing students to tailor their academic experience.
• A two-week trial period is provided for students to ensure their initial module choices are appropriate.
• Excellent support services are in place, including information and advice on immigration, accommodation, and culture, as well as a cultural advisor to help students acclimatize to Irish culture.
• A tailored orientation programme is offered each semester, including daytime and evening events, to help students settle in.
• Airport pick-up services are available for students arriving at Shannon International Airport.
• A buddy programme pairs students with a full-time student to help them integrate into life at UL.
• Students are fully integrated into the university environment, attending classes with Irish and other international students, living in on-campus accommodation, and participating in clubs and societies.
• Field trips and student events are organized by the International Office, including a special Thanksgiving dinner in the Fall and trips to Dublin and West of Ireland tourist attractions.
• Complementary membership to the University Arena (sports centre) is provided.
