Program Overview
Geodesy & Geomatics Engineering Program
The Geodesy & Geomatics Engineering program is offered by the Faculty of Engineering at the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton.
Program Overview
The program offers undergraduate and graduate degrees, including a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree. The MEng degree is designed for students who wish to study one or more fields of geomatics engineering at an advanced level, with exposure to new geospatial technologies and a variety of application domains.
Master of Engineering (MEng) Degree
The MEng degree consists of 30 credit hours of coursework, selected in consultation with the Director of Graduate Studies. The degree is designed to be completed in 3 or 4 academic terms, depending on the student's background. Co-op work terms are also encouraged.
MEng Degree Requirements
- Entry term: September

- Coursework required: 30 credit hours of coursework, at least 15 of which must be 6000 level courses
- Other requirements: Optional Co-op placement
- Residency: First term
- Time limit: 24 months (full-time) Undefined (part-time)
- Minimum GPA to be maintained: 3.0/B average
Co-op Program Option

Participating in the co-op program allows students to apply the theory and knowledge they are learning in class to a professional work environment.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the co-op program, students must:

- Be in good academic standing, with a minimum 3.0 GPA
Guidelines
GGE Master of Engineering students may seek up to 12 months of paid co-op work terms. Application for the first work term is normally made no earlier than the second term of study, in order to assess the student's standing in the graduate program.
MEng Admission Requirements
- Education: Applicants should hold an undergraduate degree in Geodesy, Geomatics, or a related field (such as Geology, Geography, Physics, Math, Engineering, Science, Computer Science) from an accredited university.
- Minimum GPA: 3.0/4.3, or B Average (the equivalent of 70%)
- Language proficiency: International applicants whose first language is not English must submit language scores that meet or exceed International English Language Testing System (ILETS) band 7 and/or a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 92.
