Bachelor of Health

The Bachelor of Health program at UNB Saint John is unique in Canada, offering an interdisciplinary curriculum that integrates arts, business, and science. The four-year interdisciplinary degree program focuses on all aspects of health, with core courses covering the biological and social determinants of health, current health issues, and the management of healthcare services.

Society and Health Major

Health is not merely the absence of disease, but a state of physical, mental, and social well-being. The program explores how to promote the health and well-being of all members of society.

Management in Health Major

Good healthcare requires more than doctors and nurses. It involves managing large budgets, finding ways to reduce long wait times in emergency rooms, making sure there are adequate supplies of vaccines and other medicines available when they are needed, and recruiting, hiring, and managing the workforce of a hospital, nursing home, or community health clinic.

Biomedical Sciences and Health Major

This major is for those interested in learning about the basic biological mechanisms that underlie diseases, such as cardiovascular disease and cancer, and how psychological problems affect the function of the brain and other body systems.
