Research Opportunities

KU Medical Center is a leader in research and innovation. As a fellow, there are many opportunities available to participate in and conduct research for nephrology and hypertension. The University of Kansas Medical Center is a recognized research leader with a strong tradition of commitment to training the physicians, nurses, health care professionals, and researchers of tomorrow. Research and other scholarly activity are integral parts of the Nephrology Fellowship Program. The program offers two tracks: a two-year clinical track and a research track. Fellows on the two-year clinical track have one elective month each year, which they may choose to spend pursuing one or more mentored research projects of limited scope. For fellows on the research track, their training program incorporates two to three years dedicated to full-time laboratory or clinical research.
