Program Overview
Diagnostic Radiology-Wichita Residency Program
The Diagnostic Radiology-Wichita Residency Program is designed to train residents in various disciplines of diagnostic radiology, preparing them to become board-certified graduates. The program is affiliated with the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita and is based at Wesley Medical Center, a 650-bed, tertiary care, Level 1 trauma center.
Program Overview
As a resident, you will receive extensive hands-on experience in all core radiology disciplines, attend daily structured case-based conferences and lectures, and receive continual one-on-one teaching from the radiology staff. The program provides an excellent learning environment, with a track record of 100% of residents passing the ABR Core Exam over the past six years.

Faculty and Current Residents
The program has a dedicated faculty and a strong community of current residents. The faculty provides guidance and support throughout the program, while the current residents offer a sense of camaraderie and shared experience.
Clinical Rotations
Residents complete clinical rotations at Wesley Medical Center, Cypress Women's Imaging Center, and the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center. These rotations provide a diverse range of clinical experiences, from general radiology to specialized imaging procedures.
Fellowship Placement
The program has a strong track record of placing graduates in fellowships, with close to 100% of residents pursuing fellowships in recent years. Graduates have gone on to pursue fellowships in a variety of subspecialties, including vascular/interventional radiology, neuroradiology, musculoskeletal, body imaging, chest radiology, nuclear medicine, pediatric radiology, and women's imaging.

The program aims to provide an excellent learning environment for radiology residents, preparing them to become board-certified graduates and pursue successful careers in radiology. The program's goals include providing a comprehensive education in diagnostic radiology, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie among residents, and promoting academic and professional growth.
