Introduction to the Food Quality and Safety Program
The Food Quality and Safety program is a newly established major in China, introduced in 2002. To date, over 100 colleges and universities have been approved by the Ministry of Education to offer this major. The primary focus of most institutions is on training application-oriented talents, with the majority of schools granting engineering degrees to graduates of this program.
Program Overview
Our university has been recruiting students for the Food Quality and Safety program since 2005, with the support of SWU. The program aims to train qualified talents in the field of food quality and safety. It was selected as a "first-class" major in Chongqing in 2019 and a national "first-class" major in 2021.
Scope of the Program
The major of Food Quality and Safety encompasses the entire process of food storage, transportation, and processing, from farmland to the dining table. This chain of food production and processing is complex and involves multiple aspects. The program spans a wide range of disciplines, including:
