Introduction to the China-Hellenic Civilization Exchange Program
The China-Hellenic Civilization Exchange Program is a flagship platform for educational and cultural exchange between China and Greece. The program aims to promote a deep understanding between China and the world by exploring the wisdom of ancient civilizations to address global challenges.

The program is organized by the Centre of Greek and Chinese Ancient Civilizations and the University of Crete. The Centre is a leading institution for academic research and promotion, international talent development, and high-level humanities exchange. The University of Crete is one of the top four universities in Greece, with a strong reputation for teaching and research.
Project Description
The 2025 Summer China-Hellenic Civilization Exchange Program is a 15-day project that will take place from July 11 to July 25, 2025. The project theme is "Environmental Change and the Evolution of Civilization." The program will include a series of lectures and on-site teaching, covering disciplines such as anthropology, philosophy, history, archaeology, and linguistics. Students will visit famous archaeological sites, museums, historical districts, and modern cities, immersing themselves in the perfect blend of nature and civilization.
Eligibility and Application
To be eligible for the program, applicants must be:
- Full-time students at Southwest University
- Politically sound, with good comprehensive quality and physical health
- Able to communicate in English
- From families with a certain economic foundation, able to pay program fees
The application process includes:
- Scanning a QR code to join a DingTalk group or contacting Teacher Liu
- Completing the application form and submitting it for review
- Participating in an interview with representatives from the International Office, Student Office, and University of Crete
Program Fees and Guarantee
The program fee is 2500 euros, covering expert lecture fees, on-site teaching fees, tickets, transportation, accommodation, breakfast, and a welcome dinner. The fee does not include international airfare and visa fees. A guarantee deposit of 800 yuan is required after passing the application review, which will be refunded after completing the program.
Rewards and Financial Aid
Students who complete the program will receive:
- Exemption from international credits
- A certificate of completion from the University of Crete
- Financial aid from Southwest University, according to the university's regulations
- A special subsidy from the University of Crete, based on the university's feedback on the program
