Program Overview


Medical training

Physiotherapy is a discipline that deals with research and treatment related to the movement and skills of the body.


BS 180 credits

Academic and practical undergraduate studies with an emphasis on professionalism, academics and scientific methods.


  • The number of students in the undergraduate program in medical education is limited by an entrance exam.
  • Every year, 40 students are admitted to the program.

Admission requirements

Matriculation certificate or a comparable degree from a foreign school.


  • Students who have completed a degree from the technical and engineering foundation of Reykjavík University's university foundation or the engineering and science department of Keilis University Bridge are considered to meet the department's admission requirements.
  • Students are admitted to medical training based on an entrance exam held in June each year.
  • The entrance exam is partly based on the curriculum of the secondary schools, but also tests general knowledge, moral attitude and reasoning.

Study requirements

Complete 180 credits for the final exam.


  • All units of each year must be completed before starting the next year.
