Program Overview

Global Opportunities & International Exchange

Global learning is an excellent way to learn about other cultures, make new connections, and see what the graphic communications industry looks like on the other side of the world.

GCM's International Exchange Program

An international exchange is an unforgettable and enriching experience. Immerse yourself in a new culture and learn what your industry looks like on the other side of the world. Spending a semester abroad is a rare opportunity that will enhance your critical thinking, inspire you to create, and help you figure out what you want from your career and life.

Eligibility and Application Process

Students who study abroad do so in the Winter semester of their third year. If you are interested in participating, look out for announcements from us. Academic and non-academic criteria are considered in the selection process, and an interview with The Creative School's International Coordinator is required.

Partnerships

GCM is proud to have partnerships with the following schools:

  • Dongguk University in Seoul, South Korea
  • Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul, South Korea
  • University of South Australia in Adelaide, Australia
  • Artevelde University College Ghent in Ghent, Belgium
  • Danish School of Media & Journalism in Copenhagen, Denmark
  • Hochschule der Medien in Stuttgart, Germany
  • Linköping University in Linköping, Sweden

Application Process

  1. Research: Attend mandatory The Creative School exchange info sessions, visit each exchange institution's website, and talk with your academic advisor.
  2. Make Decisions: Consider your ability to participate, destination, and financing.
  3. Apply: Submit your application through The Creative School exchange process, including a letter of interest, unofficial transcript, and top three destination picks.
  4. Interview: Successful applications will be contacted for an interview with a The Creative School representative.
  5. Await Approval: Congratulations, you have completed the entire application process. Successful candidates will be contacted for approval.

Course Credits

After your exchange stay, our partner university will send your transcript over to GCM. You will be given transfer credits based on the courses you have taken.

Cost Comparison

The cost of living varies from location to location. It is essential to educate yourself on the approximate cost of living in each city that you apply to for exchange.

Financial Support

There are ways to minimize your financial costs through scholarships and awards, such as the Ontario-Baden-Württemberg student exchange program.
