Global Exchange Fellowship Program
The Global Exchange Fellowship program, organized by the Global Migration Institute, provides an opportunity for advanced PhD students (3rd year or later), postdoctoral fellows, and early career researchers based at Toronto Metropolitan University and partner institutions to participate in a one-month research exchange.
Program Overview
The Global Exchange Fellowship program promotes international collaboration and knowledge exchange among Canadian and international academic institutions, and provides research training and professional development opportunities for early-career scholars in migration research. One exchange is conducted per institution over the course of an academic year. Visiting fellows receive a stipend and travel allowance to contribute to their expenses related to their stay abroad.
Eligibility
This exchange is available only to those who are attending a doctoral program or working in research at one of the listed partner institutions, including Toronto Metropolitan University.
Application Instructions
Applicants must submit a short CV (maximum four pages) and cover letter (maximum two pages) describing the following:
- The motivation for your stay at the relevant institution and how it will benefit your work
- Any scholars you would like to work with at the relevant institution and if you are already in contact with them
- Proposed activities to be conducted during your stay (e.g., give a public talk, lead a graduate seminar, engage with local organizations, etc.)
- How the visit will provide networking opportunities
- Proposed dates of the visit
Further Details
Duration
Your stay at the hosting institution may vary from 20 to 35 days. Requests for longer periods can be examined and are at the discretion of the host institution; however, the funding would not be extended.
Funding Support
The fellow will receive a monthly stipend and travel grant for a return trip to the destination via the shortest route.
