Program Overview
Unreal Engine for Beginners
The Unreal Engine for Beginners workshop series is designed to introduce participants to the powerful 3D creation tool. This series consists of three workshops, each lasting 6 hours.
Duration and Price
- The total duration of the workshop series is 3 workshops, with 6 hours per workshop.
- The price for the workshop series is $75 for General Admission and $25 for Undergraduate Students.
Delivery
The workshops will be delivered in person at the Red Bull Gaming Hub @ The Creative School, TMU.
Workshop Series Details
The workshop series is led by Robert Della Rossa, a self-taught 3D generalist with extensive Unreal Engine cinematics and virtual production expertise. The series focuses on combining traditional production techniques and Unreal Engine, providing hands-on experience with the world of Unreal Engine and upgrading storytelling and skills.
Workshop 1: Intro to Worldbuilding Unreal Engine 5
- Description: This workshop introduces building environments in Unreal Engine 5, starting from scratch. Participants will leave with a complete 3D environment to be used in their next game, film, or live experience.

Workshop 2: In-depth Camera and Lighting in Unreal Engine 5
- Description: This workshop enhances skills by bringing real-world lighting and camera techniques into 3D space with Unreal Engine 5. Participants will learn how to simulate real-world cameras and lights inside a virtual environment.

Workshop 3: Pre-vis and Animatics for Feature Films UE5
- Description: This workshop focuses on pre-vis, an essential part of the pre-production process, allowing creative teams to visualize entire film sequences before filming begins. Participants will learn how to build previs and animatics that strengthen storytelling, improve collaboration, and support a smoother production process.

Robert Della Rossa is a filmmaker, 3D generalist, and educator, finding the intersection between traditional media and emerging technology to tell stories and collaborate with others. He has been teaching Unreal Engine and production workflows to students and industry professionals for the past three years.
