Program Overview

Bachelor in Engineering Sciences, Option Charleroi

The Bachelor in Engineering Sciences, option Charleroi, is a comprehensive program that provides students with a solid foundation in engineering sciences. The program is organized into several options, and students must have a certificate showing they have passed the special admission exam for this program.

Presentation

The program's objectives are to provide students with a grounding in the different aspects of engineering, including creating, designing, producing, optimizing, and securing. Students will develop skills ranging from scientific rigor to practical work, learning both know-how and interpersonal skills.

Teaching Team and Methods

The teaching methodologies range from classical courses to projects, including exercise and laboratory sessions. The program starts with a "multitechnical" approach, enabling students to gain insight into all theoretical and applied aspects of the field.

International/Openness

The Erasmus exchange program usually takes place during the master's course. However, there are bilateral agreements (double degree agreements) enabling students to study abroad from the 3rd block of the bachelor's course to the end of the 1st block of the master's course. Some subsequent masters in engineering are organized jointly with VUB in English.

Program's Added Value

The program's added value lies in its comprehensive approach, focusing on individual study, with lectures making up only one element of the course. It is the most general BA course in the French-speaking Region of Belgium. Students have access to specialist laboratories, faculty libraries, university central libraries, computer rooms, and other resources.
