Program Overview


International French Summer School in Brussels (ULB)

The University Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) offers a three-week program for students to improve their French language skills. The program is organized by the Faculty of Letters, Translation, and Communication and takes place from July 18th to August 7th, 2026.


General Information

  • The program includes 60 hours of live lessons with experienced French teachers and conferences on various topics such as Belgian music, cinema, contemporary art, multiculturalism, and linguistics.
  • Lessons are held from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
  • There are no classes for absolute beginners.
  • Students must be at least 16 years old to attend.
  • Accommodation can be booked from July 17th to August 8th, 2026.

Objectives

The program has linguistic and cultural objectives:


  • Practice oral and writing skills.
  • Discover and study French and Belgian cultures and literatures.

Registration

  • Registration fee: 770 euros.
  • Registration fee and accommodation: 1320 euros.
  • Fill in the application form on the ULB website and pay the fee before July 1st, 2026.

Program Structure

Written and oral exams are required before the beginning of classes to ensure students are placed in the right group. The program is divided into four groups with varying focuses on oral practice, written practice, grammar, language training workshops, and Belgian literature.


Scholarship Application

Certificate

A certificate of attendance can be obtained if students attend classes regularly (at least 80% participation).
