Program Overview

The Master's program in Human-Computer Interaction aims to provide specialized theoretical and applied knowledge, generating new knowledge in subjects related to the study, design, and development of interactive technologies.


Certified Study Programme

The academic program has undergone official external evaluation and accreditation by the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE).


Program Format

The program follows a blended format of online and face-to-face courses, combined with practical experience during the diploma thesis.


  • 1st semester: 2 core and 3 elective courses for 30 ECTS
  • 2nd semester: 1 core and 4 elective courses for 30 ECTS
  • 3rd semester: diploma thesis for 30 ECTS

Program Duration

The minimum study duration is three academic semesters, including the required time to complete the postgraduate Diploma Thesis. The maximum study duration amounts to six semesters and does not include the September examination period of the third academic year.

Research areas include all topics related to human-computer interaction, indicatively:


  • Behavioral Research: Understanding and assessing how users interact with interfaces
  • AI & Human Interaction: Developing intuitive interfaces for human-AI collaboration and investigating ethical implications of AI in everyday life
  • Ubiquitous Computing: Designing seamless interactions with technology embedded in everyday environments and objects
  • Augmented & Virtual Reality: Exploring immersive interfaces that blend digital information with the physical world to create new interactive experiences

Research Labs & Facilities

  • USIDAS Laboratory: Focuses on mobile computing, augmented reality (AR), context-aware systems, and human-computer interaction
  • HCI Laboratory: Specializes in the study, design, and evaluation of interactive technologies and human-computer interaction
  • Software Quality and Human-Computer Interaction Laboratory: Advances research in software quality and human-computer interaction
  • Wired Telecommunications and Information Technology Laboratory: Conducts advanced research in virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR), 3D graphics, computer vision, and interactive technologies
