Tourism Destination and Business Management
The Postgraduate Programme "Tourism Business & Destination Management" aims to provide specialized knowledge in the following areas:
Research
Preparing scientists capable of pursuing academic careers.
Knowledge
The promotion of knowledge in Tourism Business & Destination Management and the development of research in related scientific areas.
Tourism Business Executives
Postgraduate level specialized training for executives of tourism enterprises, organizations and institutions in the public and private sector, both in a national and international business environment.
Sustainability
Providing knowledge and expertise in sustainability issues and their application in the management of tourist destinations, in terms of economy, society and environment (natural and anthropogenic).
Resource Management
To provide the necessary high-level knowledge for efficient and effective management of natural, anthropogenic, human, economic and technological resources, in the context of new trends and developments in the tourism sector.
Forms of Tourism
The provision of knowledge and expertise in cultural heritage tourism management and event management, etc., in the context of developing forms of tourism that promote the mitigation of seasonality and the improvement of service quality in tourist destinations.
Discipline and Qualification
The discipline covered by the programme is the Tourism Business & Destination Management. The Postgraduate Programme, after the full and successful completion of the Programme of Studies, leads to the award of a Master of Science in "Tourism Business & Destination Management", with two specializations:
- "Tourism Destination Management"
- "Tourism Business Management". The title is awarded by the Department of Tourism Management of the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Patras.
