Program Overview

Department of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Patras offers a postgraduate program leading to a Master of Science (MSc) degree.

Program of Studies

To obtain the Postgraduate Diploma, students are required to attend and successfully study in three elective courses of the first semester, three elective courses of the second semester, and successfully defend a diploma thesis in the second semester.

Semester 1

Each course of the first semester is taught 4 hours per week and corresponds to 10 ECTS. The available courses are:

• PAM_11: Algebra (10 ECTS)
• PAM_12: Analysis (10 ECTS)
• PAM_13: Differential Equations (10 ECTS)
• PAM_14: Differential Manifolds (10 ECTS)
• PAM_15: Mathematical Modeling (10 ECTS)

Semester 2

Each course of the second semester is taught 3 hours per week and corresponds to 6 ECTS. The available courses are:

• PAM_20: MSc thesis (12 ECTS)
• PAM_21: Topics in Algebra (6 ECTS)
• PAM_22: Topics in Analysis (6 ECTS)
• PAM_23: Topics in Geometry (6 ECTS)
• PAM_24: Topics in Differential Equations (6 ECTS)
• PAM_25: Topics in Mathematical Physics (6 ECTS)
• PAM_26: Topics in Topology (6 ECTS)
